How is a world-class campus shaping the LSE community?

The Wolfson Foundation generously awarded £1 million to LSE towards the Centre Buildings Development during the silent phase of the Campaign.

The new Centre Building forms a key part of LSE’s 2030 vision to create a vibrant academic community in London, contributing towards a world-class academic and physical campus.

Situated at the heart of LSE’s campus, the 15-storey building is already transforming the student experience, through the provision of a suite of flexible teaching and learning spaces in the building. These dynamic spaces facilitate world-leading research creation and knowledge exchange, and promote an ecosystem in which high-quality research and teaching inform and feed into one another.

“The Wolfson Foundation supports and promotes excellence, with a strong emphasis on research and learning. Our partnership with LSE is therefore an important and obvious one, and dates back over a number of decades. We are delighted to be involved in the Centre Buildings development and admire the way in which the School is going from strength to strength under the leadership of Baroness Minouche.”

Paul Ramsbottom, Chief Executive of The Wolfson Foundation

The generous award continues a successful partnership between the two organisations dating back to 1972, and The Wolfson Foundation’s philanthropic support for LSE totals almost £4 million. In 2000 they were added to LSE’s Benefactors’ Board in the atrium of the School’s Old Building.
